Salena Draws

Working on a new painting playing with colours, of blue, orange, copper, teal, black and grey. Interesting combination. I’m liking the results. Will post a pic later once finished. Have to start working on a painting or drawing for the Ottawa West Art Association.

The new year for the gallery is coming up in September. New exhibits, new art shows and some new artist. Should be a fun year.

I’m will also be teaching for Young Rembrandt as well this year in Ottawa so looks out for classes.

Hello all,

Hope September has been a great start back to school and work routines. I know in our household a lot of shifting around has been happening!

It is also time to think about the holidays as fall is coming upon us.  As a portrait artist I am working on many pencil portraits for the holiday season. The portraits make wonderful gift for that hard to please person, for that special  family member, or the one we want to remember.

I can combine photos to make one image. Now is the time to think about those wonderful types of gifts and it does take time to complete.  Especially, if you want to frame the gift as well. Take a look on my web site at the portraits.  If it is something you are interested in, send me your photos and I will work on your masterpiece.

Today, I am planning on setting aside some time to work on my painting for the Ottawa West Art Association (owaa gallery). Just been busy, with a new job getting paperwork in order. Supplying and doing other art related stuff it has been a busy month of August so far.

The theme is “A Wonderful Life” that reminds me of Christmas, so I had to expand my thinking about that. Looked at a few pictures. So, I have narrowed it done to what I think life is etc… and all that stuff.

I will post what I have come up with when it is fully finished.

Now off to painting.

Salena Draws

Well, the time has come for me to change a few things around. Starting with Art and Aprons. I have changed the same to Salena Draws from Art and Arpons as I am not making any aprons any more. The production has slowed down and I really want to focus on my drawing and painting.

I do still love to sew and create new designs. The smell, look and feel of new material but at this time I just don’t have to time and love to making the aprons. It is feeling like a chore instead of pure enjoyment as it was in the beginning. Now, since deciding to leave aprons alone I can now turn to my true passion of drawing and painting.

Hopefully, it won’t take to long to create some wonderful pieces and share with you my passion for all art.

Working on my website, and working on a portrait. Looking into teaching drawing to kids as well. I will let you know how it goes.
